I have been guided by Mike Dennis for 28 years now. I had great time every time and learned many things about trout and nature, also NZ culture from him. I will be coming as long as he is guiding. I think I still have many things to learn from him.

He has his finger on the pulse of the waters in the south, and can arrange the best kind of fishing that time and conditions allow. I’ve seen cicada inhaled, willow grubs refused, and sea run browns go aerial under Mike’s guidance. He's a nerd who loves to talk about the gear, the patterns, the cast, while getting me into those picture book places that leave you with that perfect image etched in your mind. Some out of the way stretches have been everything I imagined NZ fishing to be, but when my time is short, he's also got me into some idyllic parts of the Mataura and other wonderful local water that you wouldn't have thought were so close by.
