Hi, my name is Mike Dennis and I was born here in New Zealand and first picked up a fly rod at age 10. Since those early days of catching eels with hand-lines and my first trout on the fly rod I have fished throughout both the main Islands of New Zealand, the Cook Islands, South East Asia, Australia and the Pacific North West of Canada. I enjoy tying flies and testing these on the Trout, Salmon and Kahawai that inhabit our local waters. I have guided throughout Southland (NZ’s Home of Brown Trout) and Otago now for 31 years. I have a wide selection of water available to cater for the beginner and more experienced fishermen. As well as Guiding, I thoroughly enjoy “teaching” all the aspects from set-up, knots, casting and fly selection for those that want to give the fly rod a go. if this is you and you’d like to spend some time on the river learning the “Art”, then please feel free to contact me and let’s make this happen. I am First Aid Field Qualified and with many years of outdoor experience. As a member of the New Zealand Professional Fishing Guides Association I am therefore covered by all relevant concessions. So make a booking and let me introduce you to our beautiful lakes, rivers, streams and the trout that live within.
You are in safe hands.
